Aberlour has received a donation of £3000 after the staff of the AEGON Asset Management team in Edinburgh nominated us as their charity of the year for 2009.
This very generous sum was raised by a number of activities throughout the year, including a staff dance, auctions, a Wimbledon sweepstake, a Hallowe’en raffle, and the biggest fundraiser of all, a team challenge and interactive quiz held in September.
The AAM charity committee have to fit all this around their daily routine and often use a lot of their own time. AEGON is very supportive of the charities and operate a matched funding scheme for their staff, encouraging them to raise as much as possible.
Every new employee starting at AEGON is made aware of the work the staff do for charities and has an outline in their induction pack.
The AEGON Asset Management (AAM) Charity Committee was set up in 1986 and each year has made several donations to charities. Nominations for support are put forward annually and AAM staff vote for their favourites.
