Ardfin Road provides short-break respite care, specialist play schemes and general support services for parents and carers with children affected by a range of learning and physical disabilities who live in South Ayrshire.
Ardfin Road also operates an outreach service to support young people at various locations after school and at weekends.
Service aims and what we offer
Ardfin Road aims to provide an environment which ensures respite care is enjoyable for the children and young people as well as the parents.
Ardfin Road achieves this aim by providing:
• a purpose built home to help children and young people with their needs,
• outdoor space divided into two areas - a sensory garden with easy access for wheelchair users and a section for children who are more physically able,
• a dedicated sensory area which can be used to provide stimulation or relaxation,
• innovative mood lighting, sounds, music and a tactile area to encourage touch and stimulate the senses.
General service information
Ardfin Road operates from a purpose built bungalow in Prestwick, accommodating four children and young people at a time.
