Scotland’s largest children’s charity, Aberlour, has been given a £10,000 donation by one of the country’s most prestigious hotels. The presentation cheque, from Dunblane Hydro, was presented to the charity’s newest ‘ambassador’ , BBC Reporting Scotland presenter Catriona Shearer. Dunblane Hydro made the donation to Aberlour to mark a £12m relaunch.
The charity, which works with vulnerable children across more than 40 services, from Elgin to Stranraer, received the cheque from the hotel's General Manager, Tricia Fitzsimons. It was accepted by Catriona, who was carrying out her first engagement for the charity.
Catriona said "This generous donation from Trica and the team will enable us to continue with the very necessary work we do with some of the most vulnerable children and families in Scotland.’’
Tricia said "As we approach a significant landmark for Dunblane Hydro, with the forthcoming relaunch to a Doubletree by Hilton hotel, we are delighted to once again assist our friends at Aberlour, and as ever, we are pleased to be associated with such a worthy cause. The fact that our donation will enable Aberlour to continue its vital work, in supporting some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children.’’
