CSTAC is a training and learning centre which supports workforce development and the expansion and development of quality childcare services.
The core work of CSTAC is the SQA Accredited Centre. Working in partnership with Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire local authorities it provides training, consultancy and support to childcare providers, including access to qualifications and the delivery of CPD programmes.
Service aims and what we offer
CSTAC aims to provide a quality service throughout Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire by:
• contributing to the development of quality early education and childcare services,
• promoting good practice,
• developing new childcare services,
• contributing to workforce development and qualification,
• upholding standards of SVQ delivery.
These aims are achieved through the range of services offered by the SVQ Accredited Centre and Skills for Work.
Skills for Work qualifications are also delivered through a working partnership with Aberdeen secondary schools in which young people have the opportunity to gain Intermediate 1 & 2 in Early
Education & Childcare. This delivers on outcomes within the Curriculum for Excellence and the More Choices, More Chances agendas.

CSTAC is for all staff and service providers working with children and young people.
General service information
CSTAC continuously reviews its service and staff to improve and invest in quality so that:
• all Skills for Work tutors are TQFE qualified (or are working towards it),
• all SVQ assessors are A1 qualified and participate in Assessor CPD programmes,
• all Childcare Development Officers are eligible for SSSC registration.
