Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow

Overview

L3O1939Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow is an early years and family support service based in the Possilpark area of Glasgow. We work with vulnerable children and families affected by adversities including homelessness, domestic abuse, parental substance use, parental physical ill health and parental mental ill health.

We aim to work in partnership with parents to improve the educational outcomes and health and social wellbeing of children.

Who we work with

We focus on working with children aged 3 – 8, however we can work with younger and older siblings in order to offer a holistic family approach.

Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow works with children who attend nursery or school within North Glasgow in the Ward 16 canal corridor.


Partnership and Funding

Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow is funded by the Scottish Government’s Inspiring Scotland Early Years Early Action Fund.

We work in partnership with agencies including education, health, social work, addiction services, housing support services and other voluntary organisations.

Service aims and what we offer

The aim of Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow is to support the lives of vulnerable children and families in order to improve their life chances by increasing resilience through the promotion of their health, educational attainment and social wellbeing.

Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow achieves this by:

  • offering a needs-led, flexible service to children and families
  • increasing resilience in children affected by adversities
  • promoting the health, educational attainment and social wellbeing of children affected by adversities
  • providing a high quality service that promotes inclusion and maximises both parents and children’s potential.

If you are aged between 3-5 and 9-12 and go to school in Possilpark, we can help you.

Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow Service

Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow provides support to children and young people from nursery to secondary, whose parents use drugs and/or alcohol.

Aberlour believes that children and young people do better when they are able to stay with their parents.  Although, many parents who have substance use issues find it difficult to cope with their children and require extra support to achieve better things in life for themselves and their children.

At Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow, we work with families to build on their strengths and reduce the harmful effects of their substance use on their children. 

Aberlour Bridges - Glasgow Service can offer you:
