Moray Options provides a range of community based support for children with learning disabilities and their families throughout Moray.
Service aims and what we offer
Moray Options aims to develop and provide individually tailored support packages for children and young people affected by disability and their families.
Moray Options achieves this by providing a wide range of services:
Play scheme - a day care service for children aged 5 – 12, which operates within the Easter, Summer and October school holiday periods. A variety of activities are planned which access local community areas as well as the base centre and children are encouraged to participate fully.
Leisure link groups - evening social clubs for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years. A safe environment for all to socialise, try new experiences and make friends.
Fostering service - a family based scheme where approved foster carers provide regular respite breaks for children and young people up to the age of 18.
Moray Integrated Learning and Leisure (MILL) works in partnership with Social Work and Education to enable children and young people with additional support needs to remain in their community and sustain education.
Monitoring and evaluation
Moray Options is inspected by the Care Commission and the Quality Monitoring Officer.
Moray Options has a steering group where representatives of Aberlour, Moray Council Social Work and Moray Child Care Partnership meet regularly to guide the direction of service delivery.
