More than 700 children spoke to ChildLine Scotland last year after being thrown out of home or having run away according to figures released by the helpline today (17th December).
The helpline is highlighting the figures as it calls for an increase in the emergency accommodation available for young people and children in Scotland who have run away or who have been thrown out of home by a parent.read more

Party manifestos ”virtually ignore” looked-after children
A network of organisations has expressed its shock at the lack of commitments for looked-after children in the manifestos of Scotland’s political parties.
The group, which includes Children 1st, Children in Scotland, Aberlour, Save the Children, ChildLine Scotland, Barnardo’s and the Scottish Out of School Care Network, has assessed the manifestos of all the parties, comparing their policies for children and young people.. read more
