Local Co-op Store flying high for Childrens Charity
Two enthusiastic workers from the Banchory Co-operative store will be
jumping out of a plane on Sunday 12th August, in an effort to raise
essential funds for Aberlour. Norma Anderson and Wendy Cobb, both
supervisors at the store have decided to take the plunge along with the
Manager of the store, Carole Harrisons daughter. Debbie Harmson works
for The Royal Bank of Scotland, which has promised to match her
sponsorship up to £500. Her grand total at present is just under £1,000.
Carole Harrison, Manager, said:
"Wendy came up with the idea of doing a skydive to raise money for
Aberlour as it is the Co-op charity of the year and she wanted to do
something different that would raise as much money as possible. They
have put a lot of effort and bravery into making this a success and
trying to get as much sponsorship as possible. I hope everything goes
well on the day and they enjoy it".
Head of Donor Development, John Fyfe said: "Aberlour is pleased to be the Co-ops charity of the year in Scotland. We rely on both statutory and voluntary donations to carry out our vital work to help children, young people and families reach their potential. Norma and Wendy have come up with a fantastic idea to raise funds in the surrounding local area of the Banchory store they work in. We wish them the best for their skydive on Sunday 12th August as they are very brave and I hope that lots of people will sponsor them for their courage".
The Skydive will take place at Errol Airfield on Sunday 12th August.
