WE WANT YOU – ABERLOUR IN RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR AFRICA TREK

Aberlour, Stirling based children’s charity, is on a recruitment drive for volunteers to join its Kilts to Kilimanjaro© trek to raise money for children, families and young people across Scotland who need help to reach their potential.

“This is an opportunity not to be missed.  Imagine the satisfaction of climbing Africa’s highest peak with a group of like-minded people (in kilts), knowing that with every step you will be benefiting children and families back at home,” said Jane Wyman, Community and Events Fundraiser for Aberlour.

The pre-event information evening takes place at Aberlour’s Head Office, 36 Park Terrace, Stirling on Thursday 4th October at 7pm. It will include a multi-media presentation from local people who have conquered Kilimanjaro and light refreshments will be available. There will also be an opportunity to register for the trek and to pick up all you need to get you started on your fundraising.

The Kilts to Kilimanjaro© trek will take place from 12 to 24th  September 2008 and at the end of the challenge participants will take a detour to the spice island of Zanzibar to rest their tired limbs after the long ascent.

The registration fee for the event is £200 and the suggested minimum sponsorship for the event is a further £2750.   All volunteers will receive plenty of fundraising ideas, support and help from the team at Aberlour to help them reach their target.

Anyone who would like to come along to the event should phone (01786) 230 496 or email jane.wyman@aberlour.org.uk to ensure a place and gain access into the building after office hours.
