Local Co-op Pharmacy Staff put their Best Foot Forward for Aberlour
Ten pharmacists from local Co-op Pharmacy stores in Haggs, Kilsyth and Falkirk will be putting their best foot forward to help Scotland’s children, as they take part in a 10 mile walk this weekend (7th October).
All the staff from the local stores will be walking for Aberlour, which is the Co-op’s Charity of the year in Scotland. The walk takes place this Sunday (7th October) from Kilsyth to Falkirk. The Pharmacy staff will start at the Auchinstarry Basin in Kilsyth around 11am and walk the ten miles along the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Falkirk Wheel. The Co-op Pharmacy team are stepping out to raise as much money as possible for children, families and young people needing extra help to reach their potential.
Morag Martin, Co-op Pharmacist said: “We have all been trying to do some training to prepare for Sunday. The route of the Forth and Clyde Canal is lovely and should take around three and a half hours; I just hope the rain stays away. All the extra walking we have been doing should help us on the day and the whole team are really looking forward to raising lots of money for Aberlour”.
H ead of Donor Development for Aberlour; John Fyfe added: “Aberlour is pleased to be the Co-op’s charity of the year in Scotland. We rely on both statutory and voluntary donations to carry out our vital work to help children, young people and families to reach their potential. The Co-op Pharmacy staff at Kilsyth, Haggs and Falkirk stores have come up with a fantastic idea to raise funds in their surrounding local areas. We wish all that are taking part the best for their walk on 7th October and hope the sun shines for them”.
Local shoppers can donate or sponsor the team to spur them along by dropping into the local pharmacy stores in Kilsyth, Haggs and Falkirk.
