Research

The production of high quality research is vital to Aberlour. It helps us to better articulate what we do, identify new areas of need and demonstrate the effectiveness of our work. It enables us to lend our expertise to policy development and ensure that decision makers have access to current, accurate and relevant information in the areas in which we work. The research we undertake also highlights areas of need within our organisation, and areas that may require further investigation and analysis.

Increasingly we are employing new and innovative methods to evaluate the impact that our work has on the lives of our service users. This in turn allows us to develop and evolve our services and ways of working.  Some of our recent research is highlighted below:

Parental Substance Use

Aberlour has spearheaded two key pieces of research pertaining to parental substance use. These, in turn, have helped to support and shape policy and legislation on drug and alcohol use and their effects on children, young people and families.

Priorities
Have we got our priorities right?

This is the report of the debate of the Think Tank brought together by Aberlour, in partnership with the Drug Action Team Association, to examine and debate responses to children affected by parental drug and alcohol use.
