Aberlour Options Adventures

Overview

We help children and young people with disabilities to enjoy adventure holidays and other exciting activities through a specialist short breaks service. In our many years of working with families, we have discovered that children with physical and/or learning disabilities often miss out on the same outward bound trips as their non-disabled peers. This is because our children need extra support which some providers are not able to offer.

Aberlour Options Adventures was set up to combat that. Not only do we take care of organising the trip, making sure it’s packed full of fun, we make sure that every child’s needs are taken care of.  Our adventures can last from a few hours to a few days and can be made available via self-directed support.

Options Adventures is much more than a short breaks service – it offers life enriching experiences for children and young people, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Adventure experiences include

  • Kayaking
  • Canoeing
  • Rock climbing
  • Archery
  • Trekking
  • Glamping
  • Team building
  • Quad biking
  • Aviation
  • Football coaching
  • Camping

what we do

  • Organise, coordinate and budget each adventure
  • Provide care and support through trained and qualified care staff during the trip
  • Provide a range of break lengths from 1 day to 4 days
  • Ensure everything is included from travel, catering, equipment, activities and accommodation

Our service doesn’t just benefit the children and young people who come away with us – it has a benefit for all the family. Parents get a break from their extra roles as carers, while siblings can benefit from extra dedicated time from mum or dad. In the meantime, the much-loved child who has a disability, is having lots of fun and spending time with a group of friends.
