The Bridges Partnership

Overview

The Bridges Partnership helps women in Glasgow to escape domestic abuse. We give women and children a fresh start and help them to recover from a traumatic past.

We work in partnership with Shelter and Glasgow Housing Association to give a family all they need to move on. Our partners help mums to navigate the housing system and understand the options they have available to them if a new home is needed.

Our family workers provide emotional, practical and therapeutic support throughout.

how we help

  • We offer a confidential advice and enquiry service, over the phone
  • Following on from that, we carry out an assessment of a family’s needs
  • Then, our team puts together a package of support
  • This usually includes access to specialist housing advice, as well as practical help with parenting
  • We help children overcome their trauma, so the family can move on
  • We access additional help from specialist agencies when necessary

who we work with

The Bridges Partnership works with pregnant women or and mothers with children, living or being resettled in the North and North West of Glasgow.

In addition, they:

  1. are affected by domestic abuse living in the family home
  2. are fleeing domestic abuse
  3. have experienced domestic abuse and are living in a safer environment

This service is funded by The STV Appeal and The Big Lottery Fund
