Langlees kids get selection boxes

Falkirk kids enjoy the sweet taste of Christmas after collection

15/12/2011

CHRISTMAS came early for one group of Falkirk youngsters, after generous school pupils and their families donated selection boxes to them.

The boys and girls of Langlees Family Centre received the goodies which were all collected at the Beaconhurst School Christmas Fair in nearby Bridge of Allan.

Around 40 boxes were collected which will now be shared among the children who use the Falkirk service run by Scotland’s leading children’s charity Aberlour.

They were presented by the school’s PTA members Karen Watson, Margaret Baird and Moira Towers.

Fundraising executive Sarah Nicolson said: “On behalf of all the children at Langlees Family Centre, we would like to say a big thank you to the pupils and families of Beaconhurst School.

“It’s lovely to see that the spirit of Christmas is alive and well with young people thinking of others at this time of year.

“Our wee ones’ faces were a picture when they saw all the goodies that had been delivered for them.”

Langlees Family Centre supports children under the age of 12 and works with families to help them live positive, fulfilling lives.

The centre offers a range of services including childcare and education services, parenting support work, art therapy and infant massage.

A second Aberlour service known as CLASP will also receive a share of the selection boxes.

It works with Falkirk families on an outreach basis to provide practical help and support for parents experiencing difficulties.
