OK, so we’ve written a lot about the dangers of running away (see What is Running Away) and why this isn’t the safest thing thing you can do, but you might still be thinking that running away is better than having to deal with where you are just now, even with all the dangers involved? If this is the case, there ARE people who can help! There may be an adult close to you that you can think of who would be a good person to talk to and try and figure out a better solution for example, a teacher, social worker, family member, friend’s parent etc.
Of course, it may be that you don’t feel there is anyone you feel close enough to talk to. If this is the case, another option could be to speak to someone at ROC who would listen to you very carefully and help you to look at your options and decide what you want to do.
I have already run away
If you have already run away you may already have experienced some risky situations, or be at risk from them and it is important that you try to speak to someone in order to help keep you safe. It may be that you just want to talk, to get a message to someone to say you’re safe, help with returning home, or it could be that you would like help to find a safer option for you than the situation you are currently in.
If you are currently within the Glasgow area it could be that the refuge is something which could help you at this point.
