Volunteer Play Buddy – Dundee

Could you help develop outdoor play activities for children?

Do you want to have fun, be creative and make friends?

If yes, Dundee School Holiday Programme is looking for Volunteer Play Rangers to develop and encourage play opportunities for children.

As a volunteer play ranger you will support children to have fun, be creative, make friends, stay safe and develop social skills. If you have a passion for volunteering with children, like being outdoors and active, and have a good sense of fun and adventure then volunteering as a play ranger is for you.

What will I be doing?

  • Assisting in the facilitation of outdoor and indoor play activities for children and young people.
  • Activities will include free play activities, drama, games, music and other activities including arts and crafts activities and in some cases taking children on outings to the park, swimming etc.
  • Encouraging and supporting children to help plan and choose the kind of activities they would like to do, enabling them to experiment and learn about themselves and the world around them and allowing them to challenge themselves and take managed risks during play
  • Participate in support meetings and attend training identified as relevant.

  • When will I be needed?
  • Activities run every Tuesday for 4 hours.
  • Minimum commitment of 6 months required.

You will be volunteering in the Dundee area.

  •  Due to Health and Safety requirements you must be at least 18 years of age to undertake this volunteering role.
  • For all roles involving regulated work with children and/or protected adults, Aberlour will require the applicant to submit a PVG Scheme Record or a PVG Scheme Record Update application. This opportunity is subject to the completion of satisfactory references and successful registration on the PVG Scheme.
