This opportunity can help to make a difference in a young person’s life. This opportunity will also allow you to gain valuable experience and have fun with a child/young person who is living with a substance using parent. We are looking for adult volunteers to befriend a child/young person for around 2 -4 hrs a week to take part in activities in their local area (South East Glasgow) and other areas in Glasgow. Most referrals to The Befriending service will come from Social Work Services or Community Addiction teams. Befriending is both challenging and rewarding. You will be fully trained and supported throughout your befriending match. Training consists of a 6 week training programme and an individual monthly support meeting.
You can both enjoy and benefit from a new friendship and enjoy the experiences you share.
HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us by email or by writing to us to arrange to meet for an interview.
