Aberlour, in partnership, with Includem, the Care Inspectorate and CELCIS have been awarded a grant from The Life Changes Trust. The funding will allow the organisations to work in partnership to explore the key characteristics of nurturing relationships within the care system and the effect that love can have on young people growing up in residential homes.
John Ryan, Assistant Director, Aberlour, said:
“Aberlour is delighted to have received funding from the Life Changes Trust to pilot an exciting new project in Fife and Aberdeen. Young people will be at the heart of this project – their experiences and ideas will craft our approach to ensuring love is a central tenet of looked after children’s lives. Aberlour, and our partner organisations, will be developing a learning and development ‘toolkit’ for staff who support young people so that we can bring about a fundamental change in the way employees approach working with children across the care sector.”
