We’re delighted to introduce the Aberlour Big Cycle, a family oriented, community cycling event
The ride is open to all, whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced cyclist. All routes start at Lochore Meadows Country Park, just outside Lochgelly, Fife. The short route is contained within the park but for those completing the two longer routes, you’ll pass through some beautiful countryside and picturesque towns and villages.
There are three routes to choose from: 5 kilometres, 20 kilometres or 45 kilometres. Registration is free for the 5K route. Registration for the 20k and 45k routes cost £10 for under 16s and £15 for aged 16 and over. We’ve suggested minimum sponsorship depending on the distance you challenge yourself to ride. (See below)
On the day
Simply turn up with your bike, check in and ride. Signs will point you in the right direction, we’ll have marshals at key junctions and mechanics on call if you need help. Along the way you’ll find rest stops where you can have a break, fill your water bottle and use the facilities. And our volunteers will be there to help.
Registration will open at 9am, with the 45 km ride starting at 9.45 am, and the 20 km at 10.30 am. If you’re taking part in the 5 km you can arrive anytime before 11 am to register and ride.
Whether you’re riding on your own, as a pair or as a group, you’ll have a great day!
Parking is available at the Country Park and the cafe will be open to purchase refreshments.
Our suggested fundraising targets are
5 km route – Adult £50, Child £25
20 km route – Adult £75, Child £50
45 km route – Adult £150, Child £50
All riders will receive a bespoke certificate on completion of the cycle.
