Explore Iceland’s stunning scenery; from colourful mountains and volcanic landscapes to hot springs. Surrounded by beautiful lake and mountain scenery, we may even be dazzled by the spectacular Northern Lights.
The challenge begins by trekking to the shores of Lake Þingvallavatn; Iceland’s largest natural lake. Then hike to the Vörðuskeggi Mountain Pass and have chance to explore the impressive Geothermal Valley – full of hot springs, bubbling mud pools and colourful minerals.
The trek will be challenging; hiking across snow covered landscapes and conquering mountain passes. However, the chance of witnessing the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis will keep you motivated! Then celebrate your achievements in the bright lights of Reykjavik!
The money you raise by taking part in this challenge for Aberlour will stop vulnerable children in Scotland suffering.
£500 could provide a shoulder to cry on. Whether it’s a violent home, the death of a loved one, or fear of the future all children need to talk to someone about what’s worrying them.
£1500 could fund a youth club. Here young people can find a safe place to make friends, talk to youth workers about what’s worrying then, and have fun.
£3000 could fund a weekend activity trip. Most young people we support have never seen the countryside. On a trip away they can meet new people, build up their confidence, and escape the pressures at home.
