Can you be a Secret Santa this Christmas?

pLEASE help keep families like mine together…

Hello, my name is Alice.

On Christmas Day 2015 I got the best gift ever – I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Robynn-Belle.

I had a difficult start in life. When I was 10 months old, I was in a car accident that killed my mum.

I have had brain damage ever since and that’s made life hard for me. When I learned I was expecting my daughter, I was so happy! But social services were in my life and I felt judged; it was like they thought I wouldn’t be able to look after Robynn-Belle before I’d even had a chance.

Robynn-Belle was taken from me into foster care. I struggled with my mental health because I was so sad without her. I only got to see her for two hours a week, twice a week, for a year and a half. It was awful. I wanted my baby back so badly. I had to grow up without my mum and I didn’t want that for my daughter.

That’s when Aberlour stepped in. They supported me and gave me intensive help at home to get my life together. Just having someone help me get used to new routines made a big difference. They showed me how to be organised and make my home safe for Robynn-Belle. And it worked – social work now let me look after Robynn-Belle by myself, at home. She’s healthy and happy to be back with her mum.

We’ll be spending Christmas together this year, and I want to say thank you. By supporting Aberlour, you’ve given me the best gift I could ask for.

But all over Scotland, other families need help too. That’s why I’m asking you to be a Secret Santa and give a gift to help families like mine this Christmas.

Thank you,
