Overview
We offer support to families in North Ayrshire with children aged 5-12 years experiencing a range of challenges, including poverty, isolation, mental health and wellbeing, self-esteem, and anxiety.
How we help
Based in Kilwinning, we build relationships with the whole family and focusing on strengths and making community connections. Support is offered when families need it, including evenings and weekends. We work in collaboration with schools and other community partners to help provide a scaffold around families during difficult times. Working individually and in groups we offer children, young people, and families the opportunity to develop practical skills and strategies for life, at home, at school, and in the community.
In recognition of our belief that families know the most about their own circumstances, we empower families to lead positive change within their lives. We believe in working alongside families. Following the national practice model (GIRFEC) we offer personalised support informed by an understanding of trauma and child development. Our team will then work with children and families to identify family wellbeing needs and agree personal goals which build on strengths and interests – avoiding a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.
Our aim is to establish trust with families, helping them to build confidence, learn new skills, connect to their local community, and achieve sustainable change.
