- Early intervention
The intandem service recognises the value of positive relationships in the lives of children and young people. Aberlour recruits and trains dedicated volunteers and matches them with a young person who is seeking support. By building a positive, trusting relationship with a young person, our volunteers can help them to build their confidence, feel more connected to the local community and set themselves personal goals.
Our intandem service provides mentoring support across Renfrewshire and Inverclyde to 8-14 year olds who are ‘looked after at home’. This is where a young person is receiving additional support from the local authority for their own continued care and protection but they continue to stay at home.
Aberlour’s intandem programme is the holder of the Scottish Mentoring Network’s Quality Award; the best practice standard for mentoring programmes in Scotland.
Aberlour coordinates the intandem programme across both Renfrewshire and Inverclyde and we are looking for mentors in both areas who can inspire and support children and young people. If you are aged 18 and over and have a couple of hours each week or fortnight, you can make a difference in the life of a child.
In return, Aberlour will support you with high quality training, practical experience, ongoing support and supervision. You will also have the opportunity to connect with our amazing volunteers across Scotland at social and recognition events.
