Purpose and Aims of the role

Could you help create and maintain an innovative garden space for children and families to use? Could you spare a few hours as and when needed? We are looking for a volunteer gardener to create a fun, safe garden space and undertake garden maintenance.

Aberlour Family Support Centre – Langlees helps families by building confidence in parents and offering lots of fun for little ones.

What will I be doing?

  • Creating a fun, usable, safe gardening space
  • Help to create a usable garden space for activities
  • Grass cutting, tree/ bush pruning, clearing leaves, weeding, planting and creating outdoor features
  • Creating a safe and innovative garden space to enable children and families to have fun

What skills can I bring to this role?

  • Gardening skills
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a safe and creative garden space
  • Creativity

What qualities do I need?

  • Enjoy being outdoors and active
  • A positive, can do approach
  • Be enthusiastic, flexible and committed

When will I be needed?

  • As and when
  • Minimum commitment of 6 months required

What support will I be given?

  • Induction
  • Role specific training
  • Expenses – all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed
  • Supervision and support from Service Staff.

Additional Information 

Due to Health and Safety requirements you must be at least 18 years of age to undertake this volunteering role.

For all roles involving regulated work with children and/or protected adults, Aberlour will require the applicant to submit a PVG Scheme Record or a PVG Scheme Record Update application. This opportunity is subject to the completion of satisfactory references and successful registration on the PVG Scheme.
