Aberlour has been celebrating the long service achievements of staff from its services across Scotland. Between them, the 29 members of staff have dedicated a total of 460 years to Scotland’s children’s charity!
The achievements were recognised at an awards ceremony, which took place on Wednesday 3 December at the prestigious Stirling Castle. Staff experienced a tour of their historic surroundings before the awards and a surprise finale featuring a full pipe band. This beautiful setting was the perfect backdrop for the awards.
Fifteen different services were represented, and the staff were recognised for their dedicated service to the organisation, receiving a certificate, commemorative pin badge and gift voucher.
Aberlour also awarded certificates to four members of staff for successfully completing the Managing for Excellence (M4E) programme for future leaders of the organisation.
The awards were given by Aberlour Chair, Valerie Surgenor. Valerie commented, “The dedication and effort these members of staff have shown towards Aberlour over the years is admirable. Their achievements are remarkable, and I personally thank each of them for all that they have done for Aberlour as an organisation, but more importantly to effect positive change in the lives of the many children and young people they have worked with in their time with us.”
Aberlour Chief Executive, SallyAnn Kelly said, “Aberlour puts children and young people at the heart of everything that we do, but to make that happen, and to make it effective, we rely on our dedicated, caring and professional staff, as well as an army of volunteers to make that real difference. The individuals who we have recognised for their dedication and service, have shown that a real difference can be made to the lives of the people we work with, and for this Aberlour is grateful to them.”
