We welcome appointment of Fiona Duncan as Chair of care system review

We would like to congratulate Fiona Duncan on her appointment as the independent Chair of the Scottish Government’s upcoming “root and branch” care system review. We are hugely encouraged by Fiona’s appointment.

We know that her professional background within the Third Sector and many years of experience working alongside organisations that support vulnerable children, young people, families and communities, as well her own personal qualities, make her an excellent choice to lead this review.

We look forward to working closely with Fiona over the course of the review, and ensuring that our own children and young people who have experience of the care system are fully supported to participate, contribute and have their voices heard. We hope that now, with Fiona in place, we can begin the challenging but exciting work of working together to improve the care system for all Scotland’s looked after children and young people.
