A NEW cohort of North-east childcare professionals have received qualifications after undergoing training with Aberlour.
A total of 85 students, including 17 Modern Apprentices, celebrated their success at an awards ceremony held at the Copthorne Hotel.
They had all completed training with Aberlour Futures – Aberdeen City and Shire, a non-profit making SVQ training and assessment centre, part of Scotland’s leading children’s charity, Aberlour.
Awards received on the night included SVQ Qualifications Level 2, 3 and 4 in Children’s Care Learning and Development; Social Services (Children & Young People); Playwork, and Professional Development in Childhood Practice, SCQF Level 9.
Certificates were handed out by Aberlour’s Director of Children and Families, Jim Wallace, while a number of childcare professionals shared their training experiences.
Mark Duguid, Area Co-ordinator from Community Link Childcare, described the challenges and rewards he experienced while studying for his SVQ 3 in Playwork, while Vicky Cartney from Great Western Pre-School and Emma Walker from Little Dreams Nursery also shared their journey as being part of the first cohort to achieve the Professional Development Award in Childhood Practice.
