Up to 1 in 5 women experience mental illness in pregnancy or the first year of their child’s life. Aberlour and Holyrood Events are working together to improve their experience, by holding a one day conference on 25 January in Edinburgh aimed at health and social care professionals, policy makers, voluntary organisations, and anyone else with an interest in supporting women’s mental health. Aberlour’s Assistant Director Liz Nolan will speak about our experience of supporting women through our Perinatal Mental Health Befriending Service in Forth Valley, and our involvement with Scotland’s Managed Clinical Network for perinatal mental health, and the programme includes contributions from other experts in the field.
Liz said “Improving and sustaining the mental health of pregnant women and mums is vital in giving their children the best start in life. Every child deserves the chance to flourish, and that’s why Aberlour is pleased to be a partner in this important conference.”
