Stirling-based Law Firm take on Marathon Fundraising Challenge

12 Sept 2016

Kerr Stirling are set to kick off a year’s fundraising for Aberlour, by taking on the Edinburgh Kiltwalk.

The Stirling-based law firm has chosen Aberlour – Scotland’s Children’s Charity, to be its charity of the year and will be working hard to raise funds for the children, young people and families the charity supports across the country.

Staff at the firm are keen to make a difference to Scotland’s children and have planned a number of big challenges to help raise the cash.

First up is the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on Sunday, September 18, which will see staff donning their kilts and taking on a 26 mile walk around the capital. Those who prefer a gentler challenge will opt for The Big Stroll (13 miles) or the Wee Wander (10k), also part of the event.

After recovering from The Kiltwalk, some adventurous staff members will be taking on Scotland’s largest abseil, at the Forth Rail Bridge on Sunday, October 9.

Colin Mackenzie, Managing Partner at Kerr Stirling said, “We are thrilled to be supporting Aberlour, our chosen charity of the year and hope others will be inspired to come along and take part in The Kiltwalk, which looks to be a fabulous day out for all the family.

“As a firm based right in the heart of Scotland, we are committed to giving something back to help our communities, and we share Aberlour’s vision – to transform the lives of children and families, and contribute to a fairer and more equal society.”

Morag McGown, Regional Fundraiser for Aberlour, said: “We are delighted that Kerr Stirling will be joining other Aberlour supporters at The Kiltwalk and we’re very much looking forward to working with the firm in the year ahead. “
